COLLINGWOOD TUTOR
Turning confusion into confidence
Hi, I'm Diane Lloyd, a structured literacy Educator who helps children
become confident, capable readers and writers. I’m an Early Childhood
Educator with a background in supporting young learners, including
experience delivering the Kindergarten Program through
the Simcoe County District School Board. For the past
six years, I’ve operated Collingwood Tutor, helping students
strengthen their reading, writing, and overall confidence.

My teaching style is patient, flexible, and responsive to each child's unique needs. Some of my students need targeted, in-depth literacy intervention, while others benefit from occasional clarification, structured homework support, or just a consistent, encouraging presence to guide their learning.

My interest in literacy began with my own son, who struggled with reading and writing throughout Grades 1 to 4 before being diagnosed with dyslexia. That journey led me to discover the Structured Literacy approach, and I completed specialized training with Martha Kovack, Early Learning Specialist and founder of Sound Readers.
I believe every child deserves the chance to become a confident reader and writer—and I’m here to support that path with empathy, experience, and care.
